Apron is a seed treatment fungicide used on soybeans for control of Phytophthora Root Rot and Pythium Rot.

What is Rival?
Rival is a seed treatment fungicide used on soybeans for control of Pythium Rot, Rhizoctonia Rot and Pod and Stem Blight.

Why do some seed companies recommend treating seed with Apron and Rival?
Treating seed with both Apron and Rival at the recommended rates helps to ensure coverage of many potential diseases. Both products control certain diseases well, but neither controls a wide enough spectrum by themselves to control everything. A mixture of the two fungicides actually broadens the disease spectrum controlled.
